One of the most common question we get from patients in the clinic is which shoe they should be wearing for their foot type?
Well there are millions of shoes out there and getting the right type can make a massive difference to your foot type, alignment, injury risk and comfort. We generally break foot types into high arch, moderate arch and low arch types and as a result running shoe brands have specifically designed their shoes for these different foot types into a neutral, mild anti-pronation and aggressive anti-pronation categories respectively.
When we assess someone we watch them stand statically and then watch them walk and run on the treadmill whilst being filmed and play it back in slow motion. So feel free to also do this with your smartphone and send the video or images to us and we can advise you which of our shoes is best for your foot type.
Happy Running :)
